*Avoiding Scams*
Due to recent cyber-crime activity in the rental property and real estate industries, we want to alert you to please take the time to read the helpful information listed below regarding how to avoid scams which include impostors posing as owners or in some cases managers/agents trying to rent a home or sell a home that they do not own nor are they an agent representing. Please ask to see the Bureau of Real Estate license or California driver's license and business card of the agent showing you the property when you arrive. Note we post our rentals on Zillow, which posts on Trulia and Hotpads. If you see this property on any other site, you may be working with a scammer who is trying to rent the house and steal your identity.
*Important Things To Keep in Mind*
  • Do not send a payment to anyone you have not met with in person
  • Be cautious of offers involving shipping - You should deal with people locally in your area
  • Never electronically wire funds to another person you have not met - anyone who asks is a scammer
  • Do not trust a third party to help with a transaction - transactions should only be between users. If you have sent money to someone you have never met them in person, and you go to the property to move in and the keys that you were given by that person don't work and there is a sign in the window from the realtor/agent with a lock-box in the door, then you have probably been scammed. Do not move in or enter the property until you verify that you have the correct representative.
  • Never give out any of your personal information (e.g. bank account, Paypal, social security number)
  • Do not purchase or rent anything you have not seen - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
